Málaga International Exchange Program

Students have the opportunity to experience Spanish culture while taking courses in Spanish literature, art, history, and film at the University of Málaga, located on Spain’s famous Costa del Sol in Andalucía. Students can learn more about the university by visiting www.uma.es.

Eligibility: Students must be at the junior level or above, or graduate students. Students must be in good academic standing and possess the appropriate language competency to carry out normal university-level assignments in Spanish. Spanish majors and those with substantial Spanish experience are welcome to apply. Enrollment is limited to 4 students per year–apply early.

*International students at Georgia State who hold F-1 visas must contact the Office of International Students and Scholar Services at 404-413-2070 to discuss possible implications of study abroad for their immigration status.

Courses and Credit: Students will earn Georgia State University credit for their courses. Students who wish to improve their Spanish language skills before beginning the regular semester are eligible to enroll in a three-week intensive Spanish class at the University of Málaga that carries a minimal fee.

Accommodations:  The University of Málaga offers housing at a private on-campus dormitory. Students living at the dorm will have air-conditioned, non-smoking individual rooms that include high-speed Internet. The cost of the dorm includes accesss to laundry, lounge aresa, study rooms, computer lab, fitness center, and 3 meals a day.

Costs: Regular Georgia State University tuition and fees, please see Tuition Rates plus mandatory international medical insurance. Students are responsible for airfare, lodging, food, and personal expenses.
